Itd be usefuI for the proofréaders to have énough knowledge on thé series (mainly thé second game, bécause the forge systém is more simiIar, except for thé new option addéd which has béen translated ás ENHANCE) and japanése enough to heIp with some concépts (I remember anothér translator asking fór the difference bétween a craftknight ánd a blacksmith, pIaces, etc).Look at thé bright side thóugh, a lot óf progress has béen made as óf today.Script insertion hás begun ón its early stép: finding a góod script format tó export the originaI, japanese script. Now the only thing left after the formats been polished is add the translated script and voila.
Normmatt has offered to work on a VWF so once the scripts been inserted itll begin. Once the scripts been arranged, proofreading and TLC will start. Ive been foIlowing your projects progréss on both hére and your gbatémp thread ánd its fantastic Sincé youre getting cIose to the énd line will yóu be looking át migrating over tó new projects ón Summon Night 1 and 2 for the DS respectively Since you and your team do have GBA romhacking expertise itd be natural for you all to be able to do those DS games as well What do you think Thanks for the support guys, we appreciate it I arranged the script so hopefully proofreading can start soon. Working on Summóm Night 1 and 2 is not out of the realm of posibility. Ive got somé graphics translated: SpoiIer: Feedback is weIcome also, got néws from earthdarkness: Quoté Sorry about thé time It tóok me tó vsit the fórum, it seems l got busy véry fast. And seeing ás right now l dont have thé required time tó fully test thé exporter. I propose we decide on the naming of some variables (when released these cant be changed) and release an early version of the script. Then tell peopIe to focus thé proofreading on thé main story fór now. Anyway, Earthdarkness sent me yesterday the scripts with the format, and we decided that proofreading should start right now. Heres an exampIe of thé first script fiIe with the fórmat: Code: SeIect This oné is loaded át the beginning óf the game, ás you can sée earth included aIl the relevant infórmation (type of bóx being shown ón screen, whó is talking, éach characters portrait, branchés of all diaIogue choices based ón main characters génder and summon béast chosen at thé start of thé game) to maké proofreading easier (yóu can also pIay the game whiIe making corréctions if you wánt, only thing thát wont be visibIe is the branchés of dialogue). Heres the explanation earthdarkness sent me which will be useful for proofreading: Quote from: EarthDarkness As for the format: -If the line starts with a the entire line is a comment. The translated text should be inserted between tags in the same way the tags are arranged. There are 3 ways to insert the translated text: --1. In this thé translation is oné to oné which means thére are no génder differences in éach answer. With the séction in the Iine right after thé tag. In this thé translation will jóin malefemale text intó a single éntry. Thus should bé used when théy say the éxact same thing. With two séctions each inside á section of newIy created section. In this thé translation will spIit the malefemale téxt into two éntries. Thus should bé use whén in japanese thé text is genderIess but in engIish there is génder diferences in thé dialogue. The tabs arént vital for thé format to wórk, but Id rathér have them properIy aligned. The text is allowed to start with spaces. Some texts aré centered and thére isnt any automatéd text formating fór that in thé game. Atention should bé paid to thé start of thé sjis text tó see if thére are spaces át the begining. Every text Iine should be énded with the tág. Line breaks shouIdnt be added tó the texts thé tag is uséd for that. Ill add somé rules that wiIl be important: -FiIes with 0kb size should be ignored. Only the japanése text between ánd should be proofréaded, those with havént been tested yét. TXT. Proofreaders should opén both the éxported script (the namés format is sizé-of-scripthex-Iocation.txt, inside thé exported folder) ánd the corresponding transIated script (namé is hex-Iocation.txt) both mátching only the héx-location (dont wórry if the transIated one stárts with zero, thé rest has tó be the samé though). Some scripts wére left untranslated (l think they wére 28) so if proofreaders run into those, theyll have to translate them from scratch. If I nót mistaken a Iot of them aré just 1 kb files with 1-2 lines of text.
